As I’ve promised last week, I would like to share with you some practical tips to organise your day in a simple way.
By the way, have you found the right theme for yourself for the coming year? As I’ve mentioned in the previous post, mine is ‘Accelerate’. I think whether or not we come up with a number of resolutions, we all have something we need to achieve or areas we wish to improve. We need to perform well at our jobs, be able to pay bills, maintain our relationships with our family and friends, and so on. In order to have all of these sorted, we need to manage our days well.
It may sound strange that I focus on ‘managing our days’, but the fact is that even the biggest achievement starts with what we consistently do day by day. A well-written annual plan will never come to reality if we don’t manage our days right.
Before we move forward with this discussion, please allow me to share a little bit of where I stand in terms of goal-setting. I like to keep things simple and to some extent, I agree with the concept of minimalism. If you’re not familiar with minimalism, there are many articles on this topic if you Google search. One of them is this: minimalist FAQs. I won’t call myself a minimalist, but I will try to simplify things whenever I can.
I’ve been trying several apps to help me manage my days better. I’ve removed many of them as they didn’t work for me, but here are the ones I’ve found really helpful:
It’s a very simple but powerful app where we can list down new habits and track them. This is my ‘base’ reminder, so I include reminders to open other apps I use in this app’s list, for example, ‘Open TickTick’.
As the title says, a useful to-do list app to make sure you do everything you need to do today or on certain dates. You can also use it to write your grocery list or anything you need to list down and track whether you’ve completed everything or sort out every item.
This is a handy Notes app where you can write down anything. This app also has back up feature so you can keep and maintain your data when you’re using a new or different smartphone.
So, there you go! I will share more details in the next post, especially on how to maximise these apps for your benefits! Stay tuned!
Enjoy your holiday!
