Emptiness in Disguise

In the world that changes so fast, there’s always so much to be done and to keep up with. It’s easy for us to fall into a really hectic schedule. Our to-do list seems endless and we feel tired already as we wake up in the morning.

We may need to improve our skills or capacity due to the market demand in this ever-changing, digital era. We have also been trained to think that what we have is never enough. We may already have a family, a decent job and a nice community or neighbourhood. Still, the world seems to have changed so much that having a roof above our head, enough food on the table and a few people who care about us is just not enough anymore.

Emptiness in Disguise

There was a time in my life when I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I could always come up with brilliant ideas. I was busy trying to achieve things and I thought once I could accomplish these things I would be happy. Apparently not. I used to have this restlessness and a yearning for something more. I didn’t even know what it was exactly. A life that was more fulfilling? It felt like I was searching for something but I didn’t even know what it was.

Not until years later that I discovered that this pursue had been an emptiness in disguise. I had been looking for answers in the world out there while making a distance from my inner truth. There had been a void inside me that I couldn’t recognise.

What is Your Life Purpose?

When I finally discovered my life purpose, everything began to make sense. Well, not all the questions had been answered, but I began to feel ‘whole’ again.

The process of finding one’s purpose may be different from person to person. For me, I think it was too long. We may be running to the realisation of our dreams, or we may think we are doing so while we are actually running from ourselves. What was happening to me was the latter.

The dreams may be a reflection of the things we’re capable of. They are the seeds of potential growth that have been planted by Our Creator. The problem is if we don’t have our soil nourished and fertilised, we may not be able to bear good fruits. We may grow many trees if we work hard enough, but we will end up experiencing fatigue instead of joy.

If you have already found your passion and your true purpose in life, then you are on the right track. For those who are still struggling, I am going to share some tips in my next post on how to find your life purpose. So, stay tuned and see you in my next post.

    1. Hi sis Lucy,
Thank you for your kind words. I needed the encouragement. Don’t worry if you’re still struggling. I feel you. We are all, aren’t we? In one way or another. Take one step at a time. Be gentle to yourself and lean on Him. You have so much compassion within you and God will continue to use you to bless others 😊 🙏
